Duchy League Round-Up

PELYNT had a huge win in the Premier Division beating North Petherwin 11– 2, and after an impressive performance from the home side the margin could have been even greater.

Ryan Oxley was the leader of the slaughter with five goals whilst Antony Harman added a hat-trick. Tyler Collins scored a brace with Liam Jones adding the hosts other goal. Petherwin replied through Steve Greenaway and Shaun Ellis.

St Minver newly promoted to the top division go into the season with high hopes and confirmed their potential thrashing Torpoint Athletic 7-1 with Callum Wilson scoring a hat-trick. Ed George added a brace with Ben Cleave and Steve Wootton completing the home tally. Matt Westall replied with the Torpoint consolation.

Boscastle have won their first two games after promotion to Division Two. They beat St Breward 4-0 with goals from Rob Heal, Sam Capstick, Jake Dickinson and Harley Westlake.

St Cleer and Lifton shared six goals. Liam Donaghy, Kyle Tamblyn and Ben Fisher were the home scorers.

North Petherwin reserves beat Tregony 5-2 in Division Three. They went three up. Paul Chidley hit the first from long range with fellow central defender Dom Plumb putting the second high to the top corner. Jake Rich scored a third with the hosts heading for a big win.

Tregony however, turned the tables with two goals in quick succession from Jamie Mooney following a good first touch and a second from David Cilia.

Tregony then conceded a penalty, struck home by Craig Charnock and the scoring was finished when Rich crossed and although Andy Sleeman got to the ball on the line he confirmed that the ball was already over the line from the cross.

Southgate put in a good display against Kilkhampton in Division Four, winning 6-2 at home.
