A PATCHED up Camels side welcomed Argyle’s second-string to Trefrew Park under the Friday night floodlights and acquitted themselves well before being outdone by first team striker Alex Fletcher’s hat-trick.
Fletcher’s header put the Greens in front before the break and he doubled their lead in the second-half with a shot into the bottom corner.
The Camels did create chances and saw top scorer Adam Sleep force Michael Cooper into a great save, but Argyle were that much more clinical and had a bit more quality. They sealed the points with another Fletcher header.

Helston Athletic 4
THE Clarets’ recent struggles continued at a wet and windy Pennygillam on Saturday as they were well beaten by a Helston side recording their first away win of the season.
However the game would have had a very different outcome had Launceston not squandered two penalty kicks. The visitors took a third minute lead when Phil Cattran shot from 25 yards and saw his wind-assisted effort fly past the helpless Josh Colwill. Matthew Bye hit the post a few minutes later as Launceston struggled to cope with the conditions.
They were offered an immediate way back in the tenth minute when Callum Watson was brought down for a clear penalty. However Jordan Walton dragged his shot wide and the chance was gone.
Mike Steele saw a fierce free-kick well saved by visiting keeper Barrie Wyatt but Helston doubled their lead on the half-hour when Cattran scored with a precise 18-yard shot into the corner.
The wind dropped during the break and the Clarets needed to start the second-half well to get back into the game. They were given the perfect opportunity when Wyatt was penalised for a clumsy challenge on Jordan Hogan and the referee once again pointed to the spot.
This time Charlie Hardcastle took responsibility, but his well-struck shot crashed against the crossbar and away.
Both sides hit the woodwork during a more even second period but the visitors sealed a deserved victory as Cattran headed in his hat-trick and Bye added a fourth.
The Clarets will look for a change of fortune when Sticker visit Pennygillam on Saturday in the second-round of the Cornwall Senior Cup (2pm).

Wendron United 3
Bude Town 1
IT’s now nine defeats from ten league games for the Seasiders as they failed to build on last week’s victory at Ludgvan.
The visitors did well to contain their mid-table hosts for over an hour before they fell behind in the 65th minute as Joe Souch slotted home TJ Walter’s cross.
Soon after, it was 2-0 as Jack Stocker crashed in a penalty, although Bude gave themselves hope when striker Nathan Bonney found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper and tucked the ball home.
However, Wendron were awarded a second penalty which sealed the points.
Although the initial spot-kick was saved, Rory Jarvis was on hand to finish off the rebound.
Bude have an immediate chance of revenge as they face each other again on Saturday in the second-round of the RGB Cornwall Senior Cup (2pm).

Holsworthy 4 (AET)
Sidmouth Town 3
HOLSWORTHY overcame Division One (East) side Sidmouth Town in a seven-goal thriller at Upcott Field to progress to the last 16.
The Magpies only had one fit defender in Kieran Langman, meaning players played out of position and manager Liam Dart was drafted in at centre-half for his first appearance since April.
Sidmouth took the lead with a header at the near post from a corner.
Before that Dom Abbott, Joe Barker had both tested Sidmouth’s goalkeeper before Ollie Kenneally saw his shot blocked on the line for what everyone thought was with a hand but penalty appeals were waved away.
Ryan Chadwick pulled off a terrific save to stop a shot which deflected off Langman, creeping in while he also made a good save at his near post.
In the second-half it was all Holsworthy. Dom Abbott went close twice as did Joe Barker before Barker’s 88th minute free-kick flew into the corner of the net for the equaliser.
In extra-time, Holsworthy bossed proceedings and went ahead after Abbott smashed home a rebound after Barker’s free-kick hit the bar.
Then the impressive Chadwick miskicked allowing Sidmouth to equalise through Rob Knight.
In the second-half of extra-time, Scott Percy put Holsworthy back in the lead with a 30-yard screamer, before Barker calmly slotted home the fourth. In the last minute of extra-time, Percy was adjudged to have handled the ball and the visitors dispatched the penalty. However they barely had time to restart and Holsworthy were through to the fourth-round.
Reflecting on the game, manager Liam Dart said: “We defended well in the first-half when under pressure and with a very young side with an average age of just 19 showed great character to keep going and equalise then go on and win the game. Everyone played their part in the win and the large crowd created a great atmosphere.”
