LAUNCESTON Football Club has announced the return of Gary Jeffery as first team manager as they prepare for life in the newly-formed Carlsberg South West Peninsula League Premier West.
In a club statement, the Pennygillam outfit said: “The Clarets are delighted to welcome Gary Jeffery back as first team manager. Gary returns after a season away from the club, brought about by increased work commitments and the time constraints of a young family.
“Under Gary’s leadership the Clarets enjoyed a highly successful 2017/18 season, finishing in seventh place in the SWPL Premier.
“Alongside Gary, as assistant manager, will be current club coach Matt Hodgetts, meaning that for the first time in many years, two local men will be running first team playing affairs at Pennygillam.
“Both Gary and Matt are experienced, well-respected coaches. Gary works predominantly for Plymouth Argyle and with Marjon university, while apart from his Launceston responsibilities, Matt operates as a youth coach within the Saints South West Academy.
“In addition to Gary and Matt, Mike Prynn will continue as the club’s head physio, assisted by Sam Alfieri.”
