CAMELFORD?missed the chance to dent Bodmin’s bid to retain their Premier Division title after losing narrowly at Priory Park.

Bodmin started brightly, forcing Luke Gwillam into an excellent save before the Camels took the lead through Josh Insley’s penalty after he was brought down.

Lance Bailey made it 1-1 before half-time as Bodmin were determined to avenge their defeat at Trefrew Park earlier in the season.

After the break Andy?Boxall had an excellent shot pushed away by Bodmin’s Kyle Moore before Darren Gilbert’s men went in front through Adam Carter’s penalty.

Insley missed a late chance to salvage a point, as Bodmin moved to within six points of league leaders Tavistock with a game in-hand.

Callington Town 3

Launceston 1

OLIVER Kennedy scored a hat-trick as free-falling Callington earned the Good Friday bragging rights at Marshfield Parc.

Cally had won just seven times all season but seemed inspired as Kennedy put Launceston to the sword.

The?Clarets who dropped to 11th, replied through the prolific Sam Davey.

Bude Town 3

HARRY Hopcroft’s equaliser earned Bude Town a precious point in their bid for survival at the Upcott Field on Good Friday.

Holsworthy, who went into the game just three points ahead of Bude, were 2-0 up at the break as Dean Chidley headed home Nathan Bonney’s cross before Adam Smith fired in a 30-yard free-kick.

The visitors went into the game just three points clear of the bottom two but pulled a goal back on 47 minutes thanks to James Dart’s own goal.

Chidley curled home a brilliant free-kick on the hour before the Hopcrofts took centre stage.

First Billy smashed in the third free-kick of the afternoon before younger brother Harry curled in an exquisite equaliser with 17 minutes to go.

Smith nearly won the game for the Magpies with ten minutes to go but saw his effort crash off the crossbar.

Penzance’s surprise win at Mousehole saw them reduce the gap to four points although they did lose 4-2 at Plymstock on Easter Monday.

As things stand, Bude sit four points clear of Penzance who have three games to play compared to Bude’s two.
