THE 16th annual Pyworthy five-aside tournament was held in the village on Saturday, July 8.
The teams were split into five age groups — under 8s, under 9s and 10s, under 11s and 12s, under 13s and 14s and under 15s and 16s — with each age group then being split into groups with the winners and runners-up then taking part in the semi-finals and finals.
The matches took part on three pitches, with two on the grass and one on the main multi-use games area pitch.
As well as the football, there were also plenty of refreshments available including a BBQ, cakes and sweets. A raffle was also held as the tournament looks to raise funds towards the maintenance of the multi-use games area.
Organiser, Tracey Langman, was pleased with the event, saying: “It was another excellent tournament. Thankfully we were blessed with some lovely weather and there was also plenty of good football played.”
