TOM Ellacott’s double gave the Clarets second-string a chance of survival as they saw of mid-table Saltash United at Pennygillam.

Launceston took the lead on 20 minutes when Reece Goodman found Ellacott who fired in.

Confidence started to return to the home ranks, and they doubled their lead on 35 minutes when Oli Gynn set up Ellacott for his second of the afternoon.

Saltash immediately replied through Lloyd Russell before laying siege to the home goal in the second period.

To their credit the home stuck it out to grab the three points despite Shaun Cleary hitting the bar late on.
