THE preliminary and first-round draws for the 2018/19 Launceston Cup were made at the White Hart Hotel, Launceston, on Monday, September 17, with 14 of the 17 teams entered coming from the Post area.
The draw has set up some intriguing ties with Southgate playing host to St Breward in the only preliminary-round tie on Sunday, September 30.
The winners face a trip into Devon to face Holsworthy who are entering the competition for the first time.
As to be expected there are some good looking local derbies with Duchy Premier side North Petherwin renewing their rivalry with Division Two Altarnun which will be a test for both teams.
Up on the North Cornish coast, Bude Town play local rivals Kilkhampton and recent Boscastle, who will also one of the favourites, have the relatively short journey up the Atlantic Highway to Morwenstow.
One of the longest journeys however sees a repeat of last season’s semi-final with Dobwalls welcoming Halwill to Lantoom Park.
The first-round will be played during October, with most dates still to be finalised. Visit www.launceston-cup.co.uk for full details.
