TWO North Cornwall clubs will collide tomorrow in the Kit Kitchen South West Peninsula League Premier West when Launceston make the short trip to Camelford.

Both sides have had mixed starts to the 2019/20 campaign with the Camels sitting in 13th place with seven points from as many games while the Clarets are fourth from bottom in the 20-team league, with four points from six fixtures.

That said, the Camels having faced four of the top seven in Saltash United, Bodmin Town, Mousehole and Porthleven, while the Clarets have faced the top two in St Austell and Saltash.

Both clubs were in action on Tuesday night. Ollie Gibson missed a late penalty to prevent Camelford earning a brilliant point at home to Saltash who left with a 2-1 win, while Gary Jeffery’s side came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 at home to Dobwalls.

Elsewhere, managerless Callington Town, who sacked boss Lee Man following their 7-0 defeat at Porthleven in the FA Vase last weekend, host leaders St Austell at Ginsters Marsh, hoping to improved on a tough start which has seen them pick up a solitary point.

In St Piran League East, mid-table Callington Town Reserves head to their St Austell counterparts. Like their first team, the Lilywhites’ second-string are top of the pile with five wins from five.

A defeat for Polperro at home to Wadebridge Reserves would allow Morwenstow to move up to second if they are victorious at basement boys Sticker Reserves and St Mawgan lose at home to fifth-placed Launceston Reserves.

The Burngullow Park outfit are pointless from six games, giving the Greens, who won 2-0 at Liskeard Athletic Reserves in midweek, an ideal chance to extend their unbeaten record to six games.

Bude Town have made a steady start with seven points from five games but will hope for an improvement at Broadclose Park when they welcome St Dennis Reserves.

Scott Percy has scored six in his last two games so the visitors will need to keep him quiet.

St Minver lost their 100% winning start at home to Foxhole Stars last week but still sit second in the East Cornwall Premier League standings following a 3-1 victory at Newquay Reserves on Tuesday night in which Steve Wootton notched his fourth double of the season. Rob Green was also on the scoresheet for the Trewint Lane club.

They are at home to Torpoint Athletic thirds who won 2-0 at North Petherwin last week.

St Teath failed to back up their first win of the season last weekend as they lost 2-1 at Roche on Tuesday evening. They welcome a Foxhole side who scored seven at St Minver last week.

Elsewhere, North Petherwin are in League Cup action as they welcome St Stephen. Both sides are nicely in mid-table.

The Cornwall Newquay Airport’s cup competitions get underway with the Knockout Cup (Premier and Division One) and League Cup (Division Two and Three) as well as a handful of league fixtures.
