LAUNCESTON built on their weekend victory over Mullion by earning a point from a 1-1 draw with St Austell at Pennygillam this evening in SWPL Premier West.

On a night where a swirling wind and driving rain meant freeflowing play was at a premium, the visitors took the lead midway through the first half through Kieron Bishop.

Each side were reduced to ten men following a melee which resulted in Shaun Edge sending off both Mark Elvidge (Launceston) and Harvey Hann, the latter who was particularly unlucky.

The Clarets drew level moments before the break thanks to Josh Harris’ superb strike from the side of the box that flew into the roof of the net, but despite both sides going close after the break, the points were shared.
