CALLINGTON Town Football Club have announced the management teams for their five sides for the 2017/18 season following the club’s AGM on Sunday, June 11.

Dean Cardew will be the first team manager at Marshfield Parc and will be assisted by club stalwart and player Gary Williams.

A number of new players will be joining the squad in pre-season as they look to avoid another season at the wrong end of the table.

The second team, which enjoyed a very successful season in the East Cornwall Premier League, have retained Rod and Kev Pethick as their management team and their already strong squad will be strengthened by further recruits as they aim to challenge for the title having been runners-up last term.

The third team, although suffering relegation, are in good form and are already looking forward to life in Division One of the Duchy League with Mark Whittaker and Paul Sanders continuing to strengthen the squad with a mixture of youth and experience.

The very successful ladies team, who won the Cornwall Cup and finished runners-up in the league, are also aiming to take the next step and Adam McPherson will continue to lead the team in the new campaign.

With another good season under their belt, Simon Palmer will manage the veterans once more as they aim to go one better in the Cornwall League and the various cup competitions.

The first pre-season friendlies start on Saturday, July 8 with a double header of games for the first and second teams as they welcome West Cornwall club Mousehole.
