BILLY Hopcroft was again Bude’s saviour as the Seasiders picked up a valuable point in their bid for survival at Trungle Parc.
Hopcroft’s superb individual goal on 36 minutes put Nick Jeffery’s side in front before the sixth-placed West Cornwall side fought back as they hit the crossbar three times in quick succession before the break.
Home pressure did tell in the end as second-half substitute Ashley Smeeth headed home with just nine minutes to go.
However, a point from such a difficult game will give Bude a timely boost heading into the final seven games of the season.
They remain six points ahead of Penzance in the battle for survival after the Penlee Park club drew 2-2 at home to third-placed Plymstock United.
The first of Penzance’s three games in-hand takes place on Saturday when they make the relatively short trip to mid-table Illogan RBL.
