BUDE have finally got their league season up and running at the sixth time of asking.
A low scoring victory over fellow early season strugglers Paignton Saxons at Bencoolen Meadow last Saturday wasn't pretty, but it was what the Seasiders badly needed and will hopefully give them the confidence that they have been missing until now.
Bude's problems stem largely from the missing sparkle in the backline, following key close season departures.
By contrast, Paignton Saxons looked weak in all departments and not only was their pack dismantled at scrum time and in the line out, but their three quarter line appeared bereft of ideas in attack.
