BOSCASTLE and Crackington Haven Gig Club enjoyed a memorable time at the 24th World Gig Racing Championships on a sunny Isles of Scilly over the May Bank Holiday weekend.
For many members it was their first experience of the world championships, which was the biggest ever, with 133 pilot gigs entered.
The veterans' races took place on the Friday evening, with both the men's and ladies' crews making the most of the tough conditions to finish 36th and 37th respectively.
