LAUNCESTON slipped further down the table after suffering a narrow defeat against Southend on Saturday.

The side have endured a run of defeats — five on the trot — mostly by the smallest of margins.

Frustration was etched on the players' faces and the coaches were left scratching their heads at what went wrong.

The home side were slow to get started but pulled back some ground in the second half. Despite their efforts, they were unable to regain the lead.
