THE Duchy College Performance Sport Cross Country League began with a closely contested race.
The first event of the 2013/14 season took place on a brisk and fresh afternoon, attended by a wealth of competitors.
The 92 runners were representing Coads Green, Launceston, Stoke Climsland and Tregadillett primary schools.
The children from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 competed in a demanding one and two mile course on the Duchy College campus at Stoke Climsland.
The event was the first run in the four-race league, with individual runners collecting points for medals as well as the overall School Cross Country League trophy, which is sponsored by Launceston Sports.
