Southern Two
Sidmouth and Ottery A 0
Bude 11
BUDE bounced back from a couple of disappointing results to win 11-0 at bottom of the table Sidmouth and Ottery A.
The visitors raced into a 3-0 lead in no time at all, as simple passing from the whole team using the width of the pitch to great effect, ended with Timon Chapman, Ben Storry and Conor Bickle getting the final touches to some impressive moves.
Bude did not rest on their laurels and controlled the whole tempo and flow of the game, as well as utilising their three rolling substitutes to grest effect.
As the first-half progressed, so did the goals, as Tom Hall made it four while Bickle and Storry got their second each to make it 6-0 at the interval.
Bude knew the hardest part would be to maintain the drive and momentum that they had created from an excellent first-half, and at times they relaxed a little too much as Sidmouth created some meaningful attacks.
But the defence were in no mood to let the strikers take all the glory as they were on a mission to keep a clean sheet.
The strong defence epitomised by Robin Jennings with numerous last man challenges, gave Bude the platform to push on and Bickle grabbed his hat-trick with a smart strike early in the second-half.
The pick of the goals came shortly after as Bickle sent a superb aerial ball flying from the left-back position all the way to the oppositions 25-metre line where Kristoff Saunders deftly controlled the ball mid-air bringing down into his stride effortlessly to then go into the D and nonchalantly lift the ball over the advancing keeper with a one-handed reverse strike, which was admired by both sets of players and a sizeable crowd.
Bude finished the game in style with further goals from Bickle, Saunders and Hall to make it 11, which was justly deserved for the hardwork the whole team has put in over the recent weeks.
They’ll be in action on Saturday when they welcome fifth-placed Isca C to Budehaven School for a 2.30pm kick-off.
Bude, who are third on 13 points from seven games will be looking to make sure that Isca, who are two points further back, don’t overtake them in the table.

Bude 4
Exe 3 0
CARA?Phillips’ brace plus strikes from Anna Graves and Rachael Pomeroy gave Bude their second consecutive victory as they beat Exe thirds at Budehaven School.
The game was fast paced from beginning to end, but fantastic accurate passing, movement on the pitch and determination from the home team enabled them to secure a easy win.
Bude, who are now sixth in the table with nine points from seven games, have no game on Saturday and travel to league leaders Falmouth next weekend.
