HOLSWORTHY Peloton Cycling Club celebrated its first year anniversary as an official club recently by doing what they do best — going on an end of season bike ride!
The group was initially set up in late 2013 by a bunch of friends with a common interest in cycling. Since then, the group has grown vastly and become an official club that is affiliated to British Cycling, with 140 people interested in their Facebook group — Holsworthy Peloton — as well as 50 paid up members.
Club chairman Richard Godfrey said: “Throughout the summer months we meet as a club on a Thursday evening and split into three separate groups to cater for different speeds and abilities, each with pre-planned routes.
“We now have a ladies section of the club who meet on a Wednesday evening through the summer months, also with pre-planned routes.
“As a club we take part in sportives, non-competitive organised rides, throughout the South West and also local time trial events.
“Hopefully the club will continue to grow in the future and we welcome new members regardless of ability.
“As we are now moving into the winter months club rides will move to a Sunday morning commencing at 9.00am from Holsworthy town square.”
If anyone is interested in joining the club and would like to get in touch, please contact either secretary Kieran Jacques on 07788200337 or chairman Richard Godfrey on 07854098580.
