WERRINGTON Thirds ensured Duloe will have to earn the second promotion spot in Saturday’s final game following a comfortable eight-wicket victory over champions St Blazey Seconds.
The Tron knew they needed help from elsewhere, but chased down 198 for the loss of just two wickets.
Earlier, young spinner Tom Petherick (3-35) was the pick of the bowlers as Blazey were restricted to 197-9.
In reply, Nick Ward made 57 before becoming the second wicket to fall with 90 on the board, but Werrington were taken to victory by Paul Miller (64no) and Richard Stanbury (49no).
They sit five adrift of Duloe who won by six wickets at Newquay Seconds.
Werrington visit relegated Menheniot-Looe Seconds on the final day while Duloe host bottom side Lanhydrock Twos.
In Division Five East, Phil Spry made an unbeaten 96 as Launceston Seconds won by 60 runs at Newquay Thirds.
The opener batted through as Launceston racked up 233-3 from their 40 overs with Lewis Bunney (34) and Danny Sloman (30) providing the support.
Peter West (2-32) and Brett Grosvenor (3-56) soon reduced Newquay to 84-5 before Chris Alford (3-32) got some late reward.
Holsworthy Seconds chased down 268 at Grampound Road Thirds to win by six wickets, thanks to an unbeaten 113 from Truro loan player Alex Horsfall.
Dan Lucas (35) and Liam Brend (58) chipped in while Lucas took 4-35 to complete a fine afternoon.
Relegated St Minver Seconds earned a six-wicket success over Gunnislake.
Having restricted the visitors to 185-7, half centuries from Josh Sanders (63) and Charlie Edwards (50) set the platform before Neil Meneer smashed 43 not out from just 21 balls.
Earlier, Meneer (2-34) and Nigel Hocking (2-50) kept a tight lid on the visitors who saw Paul Hollow make 73.
