AT THE end of the 2015 season, Launceston Cricket Club hosted the second Launceston Ladies Cricket Festival, which attracted six teams from throughout Cornwall.

LCC members organised, prepared pitches, scored and umpired; the girls who represented Launceston CC Ladies played well and acquitted themselves very well.

Club secretary Bill Gelnn said: “Many congratulations to all involved; this was a great day and a fantastic advert for what can be achieved by young cricketers at Launceston CC.

“Coach Paul Bunn led the way; Caroline Barnes worked tirelessly to provide vital back-up from the kitchen, and Emma Barnes led her talented team enthusiastically. Well done everyone!”
