THE first Toxic Ted Cross Rock Surf Classic was held at Summerleaze Beach, Bude, on Sunday, April 7. Challenging surf conditions kept the crowds entertained throughout the day, from which funds raised went towards the League of Friends of Stratton Hospital. The event was organised in memory of Simon 'Skat Man' Faulkner, who was such a popular figure amongst the region's surfing fraternity and the Bude community as a whole. Thanks went to event organiser Alan Alway; Mike and Caz at I Am Why for their help and the most amazing cake; all the sponsors who kindly donated prizes; to Steve Cowling at Courtney Insurance; and to all the competitors, supporters, judges, friends and family for providing such a memorable day.
