LAUNCESTON Road Runners have lots to celebrate with over 40 of their members having completed either a Half Marathon or full Marathon within the last year — and many have completed several of both!

They recently posed outside the Leisure Centre in the town where the group meets for club nights with their shirts and medals to celebrate (pictured above).

The ultimate race, of course, has to be the London Marathon and LRR are very proud of their seven members who represented the club and completed the course, flying the flag for Cornwall in the capital.

Results for the London Marathon were as follows:

Tim Robinson: 2hrs 48 mins 44secs

Edward Horn: 2.59.36

Mike Gilbert: 3.54.26

Stewart Gynn: 3.59.28

Adam Paynter: 4.29.30

Vin Marshall: 4.41.04

Vicky Holt: 4.59.24

Launceston Road Runners offer training programmes for both experienced runners and beginners alike, with a weekly social run for all abilities.

LRR’s Ann Barribal said: “Come along and be inspired by our Marathon runners — it could be you next year!"
