FOUR intrepid paddlers set off from Bude harbour, supported by members of Bude Canoe Club and Bude Pilot Gig club on the start of their charity paddle recently.

Sea conditions were moderate, with a two to three foot swell and a force four westerly to add to the exciting atmosphere.

The challenge — sea kayaking from Bude along the North Cornish coast around Land's End, past the Lizard into Devon waters then up the Exe Estuary finishing in Exeter with a mass paddle; a distance of some 300 miles in two weeks.
