South West Peninsula Premier Division

Bovey Tracey 1

TWO goals inside the opening half an hour at Mill Marsh Park were enough to earn the Camels a valuable three points against their relegation-stricken rivals.

Camelford began brightly and were rewarded for their early efforts with a goal in the 11th minute when Danny Frohlick rose to head home a cross from the right wing.

Twelve minutes later, the visitors went close to doubling their lead when Seb Stafford shot narrowly wide from a tight angle.

They did not have to wait long though for their second goal — Mark Gusterson played in Josh Insley to finish neatly.

With relegation looking all the more likely for the hosts this season, they responded well to the two goal deficit, reducing the arrears just past the half hour mark.

The goal came coutesy of Lee Pascoe, who rifle home from the edge of the box after a pull back cross from Lewis Haywood.

Despite the threat of a comeback, Camelford ended the first half in the ascendecy — almost adding a third in the 40th minute when a goal-ward bound header by Insley was cleared off the Bovey goal line.

For all of the first half excitement, it could not be matched in the second with very little threat at either end.

Bovey put pressure on their opponents towards the end of the game, but Camelford were able to see the game out with relative ease.
