BUDE overcame strong competition in the form of Bodmin, Camelford, Launceston and Wadebridge to triumph at the eighth Inter-School Swimming Gala at Splash Leisure Centre. Bude's opponents were all renowned for having strong swimmers, and with plenty of county performers taking part, the racing was of a high standard. Budehaven really pulled together as a squad and did extremely well to win the event for the first time in four years — winning an astonishing 13 out of 36 events, a third of those competed. Spokesperson Sharon Marshall said:?"Many thanks to all of the swimmers who competed so well on the day to win for Budehaven, and to the PE staff, Nic Hammond and the Year 12 BTEC sport students who helped to run such a successful event."
