MEMBERS of Bude Surf Life Saving Club Nippers recently competed at the Cornish Stillwater competitions at Penzance on Saturday, February 7 and 14.

For many of the children it was their first taste of competition and although the event was quite daunting, with hundreds of children competing from all over Cornwall, Bude Nippers gave some really gutsy performances showing great team work, and did it all with huge smiles on their faces.

Julia Morris, Chairman of the club, said: "We may not have the number of competitors that some of the other clubs have, but we certainly win the award for best attitude and supporters — the children should all feel very proud of themselves!

"Our next competition is the National Stillwater event at Millfield, Somerset in April."
