BUDE RATS members made the journey to far East Devon to take part in the gruelling 20 mile, multi-terrain coastal run held at Seaton know as the ‘Grizzly’.

The race has a huge cult following and is known nationwide as a tough and challenging event drawing in thousands of runners each year, with the crazy nature of the run bringing an almost festival-like atmosphere along with it.

Runners who complete the course are not known as finishers — they are referred to as survivors!

With the race starting and finishing on Seaton seafront, the event organised by Axe valley runners drew great support from the locals who were out in force supporting the RATS and nearly 3,000 other racers along all 20 miles of the run.

Eleven Bude Rats took part and all finished the full course. Mark Hutcheson led the RATS in with another strong run, closely followed by Phill Aldis, as his fine form carries on in 2016.

Lucy Bone was the first RAT lady home with a determined run, in her longest distance race for the club so far.
