DUNHEVED Bowling Club held their annual luncheon and presentation of trophies at the White Hart Hotel, Launceston on Sunday, November 5.
Club president, Judith Prynne, welcomed her guests — past Group Two chairman Barry Crowle and wife Anne and the President of Kensey Vale, Peter Gilbert and his wife, Nicola.
After a good meal the speeches followed, club captain Gordon Littlejohns thanked Barry for all the hard work and dedication his has done during his chairmanship, and wished his successor Pam Arnold all the best.
The president of Kensey, Peter Gilbert, proposed the toast to Dunheved during a very good speech, which touched on many points and the past history of the clubs, which included a note that he and Peter have been members of bowls clubs in Launceston for a combined 96 years, they both sang in St Mary’s Church, he happened to have a picture of Peter Prynne in the choir.
In response, Mrs Prynne congratulated all those from Kensey who had reached County Finals and National Finals at Leamington.
She presented Peter Gilbert the Dunheved club badge, as he had presented her husband Peter the Kensey Vale badge a few weeks earlier.
Judith, Barry, and Peter, all wished Peter Prynne the very best as he takes on the role of Bowls Cornwall County President.
The presentation of trophies followed, with Anne Crowle assisting Gordon Littlejohns, before the draw was made and toastmaster, John Moir, wished everyone a safe journey home.
