THE annual Dunheved Bowling Club luncheon and presentation of trophies took place on Sunday, November 6 at the White Hart Hotel in Launceston.

Over 70 people attended with the special guest being Anne Perry, senior vice president of Bowls Cornwall and Ed and Liz Blowey from Kensey Vale.

At the start of preceedings, president Brian Keighley asked for a minute silence for past member Emily Jenkins while the club’s thoughts are with Morris Gregory and family on the loss of wife Lois.

During her speech, Ms Perry she said she was very impressed with the turnout, while some clubs have had to drop their Lunchoen because of falling numbers.

Captain, Gordon Littlejohns, mentioned during his toast to Bowls Cornwall how pleased to hear that Cornwall had once again a player in the England team Mark Read (Stenelees) while he also wished Anne all the best in her forthcoming residential year and to Peter Prynne who moves up to senior vice-president.

Kensey Vale guest, Ed Blowey, congratulated all the club’s winners on their success in both the league and county competitions.

President Keighley then expressed his thanks to everyone who attended and wished a successful 2017 to all of the players as well as a very happy Christmas.

Presentation of trophies followed and flowers were given to Anne and Liz, Thanks were also expressed to everyone who contubuted in making the luncheon a great success.
