CAMELFORD and District Bowling Club held their highly successful annual quiz night at their Lanteglos Road home on Saturday, March 16.

Twenty-five tables, each with four persons aboard, packed the club’s hall with funds accrued on the night earmarked for Tintagel Surf Life Saving Club, an extremely important organisation serving the local community and more especially, during the summer months, the mass of tourists who frequent Trebarwith Strand and the local area.

A superb amount of £700, for a much needed defibrillator, was raised with club president Colin Parsons, presenting the cheque to the surf life saving club’s representative, Ted Lowe.

Much appreciated refreshments, the busy bar and an eagerly awaited raffle helped towards the final amount.

Club spokesperson, Francis Bennett, said: “Quizmaster Mike Bray and the club’s officials wish to extend to all those who attended and subscribed to the food and raffle prizes a huge thank you, and we hope to see you at the next quiz.”
