BOSCASTLE and Crackington Gig Club held their annual dinner and awards evening at Widemouth Manor on Saturday, December 14, with more than 40 in attendance.
The guests were treated to a three-course meal before the chairman of the club, Phoebe Millar, gave out the annual awards. This rounded off a very successful season which included overall wins at Port Isaac and their own regatta at Boscastle.
The winners were as follows:
Most Improved Female Rower — Sibgha Badool; Most Improved Male Rower — Tomas James; Mens Supervet — Alan Fanson; Ladies Supervet — Sharon Northcott; Men’s Vet — Dan Booker; Ladies Vet — Bernadette Farrelly; Men’s Rower of the Year — Lawrence Morgan; Ladies Rower of the Year — Ria Tilley; Cox of the Year — Matt Chubb; Clubperson of the Year — Gill McArdell; Supporter of the Year — Christine Morgan; Chairman’s Trophy for special services to club — Dan Forrester.

Boscastle attracted several new members by running beginners sessions at Tamar Lakes during the autumn months.
Boscastle are also currently sitting in third in the North Coast Winter League which takes place monthly at Appledore.
This league has up to 12 teams from as far afield as Bristol and Clevedon taking part, and the next meeting is on Saturday, January 18.
