Blaenavon Blues are pleased to announce that Steve Morgan will take up the reins as the club's first team manager for the new season.
Steve is a former Blaenavon Blues player having played alongside club chairman Rob Browning and Secretary Jeff Huybs in the mid 1970's. As a youngster Steve played for Newport County and Bristol Rovers, gaining international caps for both Wales and Great Britain boys clubs.
Steve has managed a number of local clubs; he took Goytre from the Gwent County league to the Welsh league, he spent three seasons at PILCS gaining back to back promotions as well as cup success. He has also managed Cwmbran Celtic and Llanwern in the Welsh league as well as short spells as manager of Cwmbran Town and Cwmffrwdoer.
The club is also pleased to announce that Dean Yemm has returned to the club as reserve team manager, after a season away. Dean is very experienced at Gwent Central league level and will be vital in getting the best out of his players and have them pushing for first team places.
Pre-season training begins on Saturday July 4, all players, old and new welcome to attend. There will be a short meeting at the clubs Memorial ground headquarters at 1:15pm. Followed by a light training session, can all players make the effort to attend!
