Ross-on-Wye Golf Club's Seniors Captain Richard Topping was able to welcome 45 fellow seniors to his Annual Seniors Captain's Away Day, held at St Mellons Golf Club, near Cardiff, and with glorious weather a very sociable occasion was assured.

Wref Digings, with 38 stableford points, proved to be the most accomplished performer taking part. He won the day's main prize and he was followed by Mike Harris with 35 points, Harold Beach with 33 points and David M Rees with 31 points. Nearest the pin prizes were also presented to David Price, Kim Hampson, Peter Shaw, David Sainsbury, Mike Harris and David M Rees. The generosity of those taking part enabled some fundraising to flourish with £305 being shared by Ross Club Captain Clive Whit- son's 2015 Charity campaign and the Ross Juniors Academy.

David Morgan achieved his first major success since joining the Ross Club in 2014 in scor-ing 40 points and seeing his handicap reduced by 2 shots to 25 as a result. David's front nine holes, when he scored 22 points and dropped just nine shots to par gave him a sound platform which he maintained thanks to some consistent driving off the tees.
