ON FRIDAY, March 6, Sir Robert Gefferys Junior school in Landrake held it`s famous annual cross country run, which is now in it`s 34th year.

Organised by Helen Ralph who runs the cross country club at the school, the run is a 2.3 mile course which goes across a variety of fields, through woods and across a tidal salt marsh by the River Lynher.

Luckily the sun shone for the 556 children that took part from 40 different junior schools in the area.

The overall winner was Harvey Orchard (St Petrocs, Bodmin). In 2nd place was Henry Curtis (Sir Robert Geffery`s) and 3rd palce was Will Heard (St Josephs, Launceston).

The first three girls were Jessica Spry (St Stephens, St Austell) who was 16th overall, 2nd Maeve Turley (Lewannick) 36th overall, and 3rd Kate Andrews (Anthony School) 39th overall.

The team prizes for the boys went to Sir Robert Geffery`s (Landrake) made up of Henry Curtis, Seth Maunder and Matthew Clark; and for the girls St Stephens (Saltash) won and were made up of Erin Broad, Caitlin Broad and Maisey Godfrey.
