THE Charles Causley Trust is opening the former home of the famous Launceston poet throughout July and August.
Situated on a little side road in Launceston, Cyprus Well was where Charles came up with some of his best work after living there for almost 50 years.
The trust have left the house like it was besides the installation of a modern kitchen and bathroom and is perfect for anyone looking for aspiring writers, lovers of poetry or simply looking for somewhere quiet to chill out.
You can soak up the atmosphere surrounded by Charles’ furniture and belongings and is perfect to get writing in.
A trust spokesperson said: “We are trialling this for a brief period only as a way to secure much needed funds for the trust. We feel it will have niche appeal to writers looking for a peaceful retreat or for those interested in Charles Causley or poetry generally.
“Cyprus Well is in use for much of the year with writer residencies, student residencies, and miscellaneous other events such as festival events and heritage open days. However, a brief window of opportunity appeared in July and August which has enabled us to make this unique offer.”
