ON GOOD Friday many people joined a Walk of Witness around Holsworthy town.
Mother Elizabeth Burke, priest in charge, and Lizzy Flaherty, Holsworthy’s Pretty Maid, led the Walk of Witness.
The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts took it in turns to carry the heavy cross, symbolising the cross Jesus was made to carry for his own Crucifixion.
The party of about 100 stopped to remember the events of that first Good Friday by different people reading Scripture and sharing a short reflection.
The readers were from the Methodist Chapel, Anglican Church, a Cub, a Scout and the youth worker.
The party continued on until arriving at St Peter and Paul parish church where the cross was placed by the Scouts and the gathered crowd sang ‘When I needed a neighbour were you there’.
To further remind the crowd why Good Friday is so important hot cross buns, donated by the Corner Cafe and the Dairy Kitchen, were then shared.
