Talks by two writers are among the events being held at Holsworthy Library this month. Richard Reynolds, the son of the Rector and Mrs Reynolds, is a leader of a movement which tries to reclaim neglected urban spaces and beautify them with flowers and plants.

He has recently published a book entitled 'The Guerrilla Gardener' and will be at the library at 7pm tomorrow (Friday). Coinciding with the talk will be an exhibition of photos of flowers taken by Derek Stratton who runs the Holsworthy cheese shop.

Tanya Landman, who lives at Bideford, is a writer of children's adventure stories with a sprinkling of magic and a dose of humour. She will visit the library on Friday, October 31 at 7pm.

On Friday, October 24 people are invited to drop in to the library and 'Challenge the Walkers'. This is an easy, entertaining way to learn new ways of using the Internet and save time and money and it's free.

On Saturday, October 25 there will be a 'Creative Bookmaking' morning for parents with children aged six to ten. In a fun, practical session they will be given lots of ideas and learn some easy techniques to try out with their children. There is no need to be remotely artistic.

Tickets for all these events are obtainable from the library.
