OLDER people living with dementia in Cornwall are among those in the South West who will benefit from £1.4-million in funding from the Big Lottery Fund.
The Sensory Trust, which works with Memory Cafés across the area including Launceston and Bude, will receive £370,119 from the Reaching Communities good cause funding, which is available to help those most in need and build stronger communities.
The grant will provide outdoors activities for older people living with dementia at home. The Creative Spaces in the Community project will help those people affected retain their independence for longer by supporting them to help maintain their physical and mental health.
