THE St Giles on the Heath Women’s Guild’s chosen charity this year was CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) and recently, they presented a cheque to the charity for £580.
Presenting the cheque to Brenda Luckett from CRY was guild secretary Trish Shanks and treasurer Carole Towl (pictured above).
CRY is a charity that sponsors screening for heart disease in the young, aged between 18 and 35 years old. Screening is carried out at a local school and is free to the person being screened as the actual cost is paid by CRY.
St Giles on the Heath Women’s Guild raised the money during the year by a bring and buy sale in March and at the guild fete in June.
