PUPILS at Stratton Primary School have been busy designing their own cycle helmets in a competition to raise awareness of the importance of wearing a properly fitted helmet when cycling. Fiona Hodges, sustainable travel coordinator, said she was overwhelmed with the high standard of entries received: "The children have given much thought to their designs to include safety features and bright colours." The three prize winners each received a new cycle helmet from the three cycle shops in Bude, Southfork Racing, Bude Bikes and North Coast Cycles. Two runners-up received vouchers from North Coast Cycles, one runner-up won a pair of wrap-around sunglasses from Bude Bikes and all who entered have been given a discount voucher to spend at Bude Bikes.
