THE chances of two female physiotherapists in the same town having the same name must be pretty slim, but it is this coincidence which is causing some confusion in Bude.

Jo Marriott, an NHS physiotherapist based at Stratton Hospital, who is currently on maternity leave, has been receiving phone calls and is often stopped in the street by people mistaking her for another Jo Marriott who is a physiotherapist based at Bude Leisure Centre and Felicity Kates, Bude.

Jo Marriott (the Stratton Hospital physiotherapist who only does NHS work and not private work), who lived in Bude for 25 years, hoped the 'Post' could clarify things. She said: "Many people are seeing the name Jo Marriott and thinking it's me.

"I keep getting phone calls and people coming up to me in the street saying 'I've got a booking with you' and I say no you haven't because I'm on maternity leave. I've even started getting phone calls at home."

She added: "I hoped a piece in the paper could help clarify things for people in the town and stop some of the confusion!"

The Jo Marriott based at Bude Leisure Centre since July last year said she had experienced the same confusion. She commented: "I've never met a Jo Marriott before let alone another physio called Jo Marriott!"
