A WIND farm proposal in Kilkhampton is to go under public consultation next Wednesday (December 14).

The concept, which is expected to be controversial, consists of four 800KW wind turbines, measuring 84 metres, to tip, at its highest point.

The Scotland based, renewable energy company, Green Cat Renewables confirmed the plans.

Development manager, Paul Burder, told the 'Post': "Green Cat is looking at the prospect of developing a wind farm on the edge of the village. The purpose of the exhibition is for people to have a look at the plans and for us to gage what the public opinion is."

It is planned for the windfarm to be located approximately one kilometre from the village.

An application for planning permission has not yet been put forward, but the company hopes to submit a scoping report by Christmas or the beginning of the new year.
