The Freeman of Holsworthy award is open for nominations.

This civic honour is open to all residents in Holsworthy and the surrounding parishes who have, in some shape or form, served the town and people of Holsworthy by way of personal good deeds or as part of a larger organisation.

To summarise, the honour is open to anyone who: Has made a difference to the lives of individuals and groups of people in Holsworthy; has contributed over many years to the community of Holsworthy; is a resident of Holsworthy or the surrounding parishes.

The award will be presented at the annual meeting of the council in May and the recipient will receive the Honorary Freeman’s Silver Cup (with their name engraved upon it), a framed certificate, and an invitation to join the Mayor and their partner or spouse at the ancient Court Leet meeting, held on the evening prior to St Peter’s Fair.

The recipient will hold the award and the title of Honorary Freeman of Holsworthy for one year, with the Freeman’s Cup being returned to Holsworthy’s town clerk Vanessa Saunders no later than March 1 the following year.

Forms with nominations must be submitted by noon on Friday, March 25.
