On each St Piran's Day, Camelford Town Council pay the landlady of the Mason's Arms, Jo Old, for the lease of the field at Valley Truckle, Camelford. The field is used for allotments for the town's residents and all spaces are currently taken up. Jo kindly offered the lease to the council in exchange each St Piran's Day for one white rose. The lease was signed in 2009. As part of the St Piran's celebrations, a special cake was baked by Brenda Burnard of Delabole, which included the words 'Dy Goel Sen Pirans Lowen,' which

translates in English as 'Happy St Piran's Day.'
