The prize on offer was a fashion shoot with hair and make-up included and a portfolio of images worth £500. The girls would also receive a day's modelling tuition with Impact (Truro) model agency.
The competition was very popular with thirty-two girls and one boy competing for the title.
Each of them had a mini photo shoot with Bob Willingham of Studio Southwest and their chosen portrait shots appeared in the 'Post' for readers to make their choice.
This would determine who the readers' winner was, and the second winner was decided at the awards evening, which was held at the Falcon Hotel in Bude.
This dazzling event culminated in the announcement of the two winners — Charlotte Draper won the readers' poll and the judges' winner was Alex Reeves.
Both girls were presented with a bouquet of flowers and were congratulated by a packed Falcon Hotel audience!
After the night, both girls worked with Bob to get the best shots possible for their portfolio, which can be an invaluable item for getting future modelling work.
Now, more than a year since the competition, we caught up with both girls to see what they have been up to since the event.
