The winner of the Funniest Scarecrow category at the Annual Week St Mary Scarecrow Festival was the above entry from Mr and Mrs Ron and Mary Harris with 'Going Digital— Do we have to?' The festival drew 38 entries — which showed a great deal of imagination and inventiveness. Frances Dimmer's 'Seaside' was the overal winner and each scarecrow had a collection box, with the proceeds going to village funds. The joint winners of the children's prize were Georgie Cooper with 'Week St Mary Take-away' and Jody Evans and Connor Pugh for 'Alice in Wonderland.' Judging the scarecrows was Mr Brian Morgan, from North Petherwin.
