THE Inner Wheel Club of Bude held a Young Performers’ Showcase charity concert on Friday, October 16 at the Bude Methodist Hall.

There was an amazing wealth of talent from individuals and choirs. Budehaven’s new head of music Bethany Wade, dance teacher Clare Collingham, Audrey Bennett, Ruth and David Puddick and Sylvia all showcased their pupils — not forgetting David Robinson who was also key in organising and helping with the event.

The Bude Inner Wheel ladies meet for friendship, fellowship and some fundraising, and have been established for over 50 years, giving to around 30 charities every year.

This year’s president, Sue Howard’s charities will include The Stroke Unit at Barnstaple Hospital, the Air Ambulance and the Bude Surf Life Saving Clubs.

After a ‘tea and cake’ interval, all donated by the ladies of the club, there was the finale of the Budehaven Choir, accompanied by pianist Tom.

A fantastic amount of well over £500 was raised, which will be donated to the various charities chosen.
