MORWENSTOW travelled for this Premier Division, writes Anna Francis, and without three regular starters the greens had a weakened side yet again.

Bere Alston took the lead in the 8th minute when Dan Pethick headed in a Mark Claridge corner.

They doubled their lead in the 15th minute when Mark Wheeler set up Zak Beesley who scored with a crisp drive from the edge of the penalty area. A mistake from a Morwenstow defender put Beesley through just inside the greens half before slotting the ball past the 'keeper to make the score 3-0.

This seemed to spur Mo'stow on, they made some good moves down the right wing and there were some good combinations from Paul Jenkin and Jamie Etherington but Bere Alston's defence stood strong and their 'keeper was rarely tested.

The second half opened with Morwenstow keen to build on their good play at the end of the first half but their hopes were soon dashed when Mike Curtis's scuffed shot eluded the 'keeper for Bere Alston to get their fourth.

The rest of the half belonged to Morwenstow but failed chances from Paul Sluggett, Paul Jenkin, Nathan Bonney and Jordan Dunn prevented any sort of come back.
