A WORLD War Two evacuee who arrived in Launceston for the first and last time in 1940 returned to the town recently to revisit some now unfamiliar surroundings.
A 10-year-old Sidney Salsbury was sent to North Cornwall from London as one of thousands of children evacuated from the capital.
Now 80, Sid returned to the South West for the week with sister Peggy, and decided to take the opportunity to show her around the town where he spent four years during the conflict.
