RESIDENTS in the Holsworthy area are being asked by the police to exercise caution when answering their door to unexpected callers.

The warning follows an incident on February 12 when a concerned householder reported a visit by a cold caller who stated he was selling products from a company, which helps ex-offenders.

When the householder declined to buy any items the man became abusive.

He is described as white, around 5ft 9ins tall of medium build with short dark blonde hair, wearing a blue jacket and carrying a black bag. Anyone who receives a visit from a man of this description, who becomes abusive because no items are purchased, is asked to call the police immediately by dialling 999, quoting log reference number 799 of February 12.
