A COMMUNITY speed watch training session took place in Camelford recently, getting three volunteers prepared for what they could expect.

The event took place on Thursday, March 16 and was led by PCSO Mike Dodds, with coordinator, town councillor Kirsty Ferguson.

Volunteers had over 75 minutes of training and in that time, 109 cars passed the camera. Out of that, ten were speeding in excess of 35mph in a 30mph zone. The fastest was 48mph. One of the offenders was also found with no MOT on their vehicle.

The speed watch will continue in and around the town on a regular basis.
